I get a static jubilation contemplating in awe
at the sight of the morning sun

your greatest thoughts are the ones that lie dormant
they are sleeping form the dawn until the day is done

I wrote a poem for my kitty on the way to the Canary
islands where they say the surf is good

And made the words so crooked left the syllables
naked just so that she understood

I was a curious child bent on succumbing
to the sweet disturbance of the status quo

The story goes I am told I could never paint a pigeon
black and make it sing like a crow

sad as it may seem I had to bury a dream
that I had written on a patch of snow

and now compassion, compassion is the muscle that
I exercise like a flame you help it grow
